Gun Powder tea is a type of green tea in which each tea leaf has been rolled to form a small round pellet. The shape gives its English name, as it resembles small grains of gunpowder. Gun - powder tea leaves are steamed, rolled into tightly bound, tiny pellets and then dried. Its unique manufacturing process produces a strong tast ing tea with a unique Ceylon fragrance. When brewed, this distinct tea produces a light yellow liquor with a strong, robust well-bodied flavour.
