How we got our start

Martin Mayorga was born in Guatemala and grew up in Nicaragua before coming to the US. Martin began importing coffee in the early 90's and building his business to provide the best possible support to farmers while sourcing and roasting the best possible coffee he could get to the market.

What makes our product unique

We work directly with our producers, engaging them in quality and consistency of the product. We import everything into our own facilities in the US where we handle everything all the way until we ship to our customers, ensuring we provide our customers with the smoothest, most flavorful coffees.

SOURCING PRINCIPLES

ORGANIC BLACK BEANS -HOW TO PREPARE

1 CUP BEANS + 3-4 CUPS OF WATER = 3 SERVINGS

Carefully sort and rinse beans before cooking.

QUICK SOAK:

In a large pot bring water and beans to boil. Boil for 2 minutes, remove from heat, cover and let stand for 1 hour. Drain water and rinse beans.

OVERNIGHT SOAK:

In a large pot let beans and water stand overnight or at least 6-8 hours, drain water and rinse beans.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS

Add water into a large pot to already drained and rinsed beans.
Heat to boiling then simmer gently for 1-1 1/2 hours or until desired tenderness is reached.
Add salt and preferred spices (optional).

OUR ORIGINS We developed our organic bean program to support our small farmers in Nicaragua to be able to generate more income from their organic certified land. Due to the success of the initial launch of our organic black beans, we've also aligned with organic certified producers in Michigan to be able to satisfy the growing demand for our beans. This is the first product that has allowed us to align directly with US producers in conjunction with our Latin American producers.
