Our tea farmers on the island of Kyushu in the province Kagoshima in Japan have passed on the craftsmanship of cultivating Matcha over many generations. We are buying directly from our tea farmers to provide an excellent quality of Matcha which is only available in Japan. Only 1% of the whole Matcha harvest is available for export - as you can imagine that's not exactly the best quality. That's one reason why we are working directly with our tea farmers. Another reason for the direct trade with the tea farmers is to make sure they receive a fair compensation. For you, this means that no money is spent on redundant intermediaries, and you support a local community of Matcha farmers. Since our tea doesn't have to pass multiple intermediaries and is shipped straight by airfreight to us, you can be sure to receive a fresh Matcha. That's important as Matcha loses it's flavor and superfood Nutritional properties over time.
